Provides funding for Catholic Relief Services’ food security projects which support agriculture, nutrition, education, and self-sufficiency in communities worldwide. 75% is remitted to CRS for overseas projects and 25% is retained in the diocese for local antipoverty programs. CRS Operation Rice Bowl has offered Catholics in the United States a way to connect with other people in need worldwide through the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
