Evangelization

What is Evangelization?

"For the church, evangelizing means bringing the Good News into all the strata of humanity, and through its influence, transforming humanity from within and making it new" (EN #18).

Vision of Evangelization

1.  call to live in a spirit of hospitality.
2.  call to invite others to a discipleship that will bring about forgiveness,
     reconciliation and healing.
3.  call to recognize and live out gospel values.
4.  call to be faithful to the radical nature of call and response.

Implications of the Vision

1.  to become good stewards of our gifts and talents.
2.  to invite others to fuller involvement in spreading the Good News.
3.  to make personal invitations to others to join the faith community.

Role of a Parish Evangelization Team

1. to encourage ongoing conversion of the active members.
2. to promote hospitality in the parish.
3. to develop an understanding that each person is responsible to share the
    Good News.
4. to identify and prioritize special areas of need.
5. to formulate and implement a plan which addresses:
    a.  evanglization priorities of the parish.
    b.  methods to be employed.
    c.  assignment of responsibilities.
    d.  involvement of the total parish community.

The laity, in particular, have the task of bringing "Christ to the marketplace."
It is there where they live out their lives
and where they are instruments of Jesus Christ in building the Kingdom.
