Professional Development Days in 2012 - 2013

1. October 25, 2012 “Communication! Communication! Communication!”
Effective communication is a critical task of any leadership role. It helps in building positive relationships as well as aids in avoiding unnecessary conflict. This session will allow participants to brush up on their overall communication skills: professional, written, electronic and oral. It will explore common pitfalls and provide ideas for more successful methods of communication.
2. January 24, 2013 “Performance Evaluations: More Than Just a Paper Trail” Affirmation, awareness and accountability all go hand-in-hand when encouraging employees and volunteers to give and be the best in the work place. This session will provide an overview of diocesan guidelines for performance evaluations and state law regarding employee files, as well as to discover more effective ways to increase productivity through awareness of individual gifts and affirmation of already proven performance.
3. April 25, 2013 “From Declining Demographics to Developing Discipleship” In this Year of Faith promulgated by the Holy Father Pope Benedict the XVI, this session will take a close look at national, state and local Church demographics and statistics provided by CARA and other pertinent data collections. It will examine patterns of Catholic practice and belief, as well as explore the New Evangelization as a means of developing a deeper sense of discipleship and increasing participations in matters of faith.

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Session Begins, Lunch will be provided on site
